Surrender Indian Passport and OCI

I have just checked guidelines and it states that we can apply for surrender of Indian passport before aquiring UK passport. We just have to declare it seperatly that UK passport is under process.

2nd My child never had Indian passport and got UK passport directly. Can we apply OCI at the same time or do we have to wait for one of us to get OCI before we apply for her?

We applied for both of our kids oci after their british passport. We had indian passport than. This was last year. we applied for ours now.

So kids can apply for OCI without parents OCI.
