Job Seeker allowance

Post by Marcin6679 » Fri Feb 26, 2016 8:01 pm

I am writing to ask for clarification about naturalization process as I am not sure if I am eligible to apply now.
I have lived in the UK since Poland joined EU 01/05/2004 and here is my residency history:
1) worked from 04/05/2004 until 13/11/2004
2) worked from 14/11/2004 until 25/01/2008 - was made redundant
3) Registered Job seeker from 28/01/2008 until 15/06/2008
4) Worked from 16/06/2008 until 26/06/2009
5) Registered Job seeker from 29/06/2009 until 15/02/2010
6) worked from 08/03/2010 until present

Did I exercise treaty right after 5 years which was on 04/05/2009? And if so did I lose permanent residence status for being jobless for more than 6 months from 29/06/2009 until 15/02/2010? Am I eligible for naturalization now?
Please if some one could advise me I will be grateful.
Regards
MArcin

Looks like you may have acquired PR from 2004-2009.
If any 5 year period looks good from your stated timeline.

As you're from A8 country, were you fully & properly registered for WRS before 2011?

Not sure if you're exempted from WRS as you've worked since 2004 - suggest check on that.

Due to new rules you now need a PR card so next step is to apply for that.

When that is in the bag you can shoot for privilege of citizenship.
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.

Firstly thanks for your answer.
Yes I registered with WRS twice as I worked for my first company for less than a year.

I have PR card issued on 13/01/2016 but I am not sure when I was granted permanent resident status as I could have breached immigration rules being on job seeker allowance. Please note I have lived in The UK for 13 years so its hard to say when I got PR status.
Now I know that job seeking counts in and permanent residence once granted is lost only through an absence from the UK.

The only question I have now is about documents I need to send with my naturalization application. Do I have to send all of it again? The booklet says I should only include last 5 years so I am thinking my PR documents will support naturalization process.
Thank for getting back to me.
