Applying for short visa France one month waiting !!!

Hi everyone,
I applied one month before for short stay visa ,to visit my family with my wife and vacation in France ,I was confused for my application, because I was applying for normal ,I mean tourist visa simply ,but since I am husband of EU National, I thought about applying with EU route for the samplicity of docs requirements , so I applied with that for short stay french visa in Algiers Algeria , and it is bden one month and no answer. My question is ,is it normal or it is too long , or how long for normal time for answer , I am afraid of waiting too much with no positive answer after all ,because I need my passport with or without short stay visa .
Any suggestions and answers will be welcomed

I wouldn't know what the general processing times
For a Schengen visa are in reality, but in my country
(Zimbabwe) they take up to 5 working days. Recently
Applied for a Schengen at my local French embassy
(As a tourist) and it took just 3 working days.
