Travelling outside UK week before visa expiry

Post by manorey » Tue Mar 01, 2016 8:13 pm

Hi All,

Wanted to know what people here think of my situation which is puzzling me abit.

My current Tier 1 General visa expires in April and I have planned a trip back home to visit my family however I come back only 10 days before my visa expiry before which I'm planning to book my ILR application appointment.

If you were me, would you go on such a trip? or would not risk of being outside of UK just the week before expiry.

I mean, entering the country is no problem no matter how much of visa is remaining, but I'm just worried, in case anything happens and my flight gets delayed and I get stuck outside of UK for beyond my visa validity.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated :)

You can enter up to and including the date your visa expires.

If there are problems returning and your visa expires, you will not be able to re-enter the UK.
