Switzerland Schengen visa

Post by scoobydoolondon » Tue Mar 01, 2016 7:43 pm

Looking to go to Switzerland over the Easter weekend.

Myself and child are British passport holders and looking to get Schengen visa for the wife – how easy is it to get the Schengen visa and typically how long does it take? Wife has Pakistani passport and is currently 1.5 years into her 2.5 year British spouse visa.

I’ve done some reading and whilst I realise the visa can be had for free, my time is limited so don’t mind using the services of a (reputable) third party so long as they’re quick to book the appointments and guide on the Schengen visa process.

Looking for recommendations and timescales to see if Easter weekend is a feasible option. I'm based in West London.

Thanks in advance

it should takes 7 working days

Follow this link
https://www.eda.admin.ch/countries/unit ... /visa.html

Download the application form, then book an appointment at the embassy, see what dates are available, add 7 working days and calculate if it will be before the weekend you need, they are vey efficient,( usually) good luck
Timeline:
Fourth application sent 21.07.17
HO received 24.07.17
Paid on 25.07.17

That's great, many thanks.

If it can be had in 7 working days, that'd be perfect.

However, on the link below, it says minimum of 14 working days for Pakistani nationals. Which would push it right to the wire, seeing the next available appointment isn't until Mon 8th March.

Or does the 7 working day rule take precedence as the visa is for my wife, EU Spouse?

https://www.vfsglobal.ch/switzerland/uk/faqs.html
Can my application be processed on the same day that I submit it at the Visa Application Centre/Embassy of Switzerland in London?

Processing time is a minimum 7 working days from the date of receipt of documents. Please note that the visa cannot be issued on the same day.

Please note for the following Nationals the processing time is a minimum of 14 working days –Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus (Diplomatic and service passports only), Congo, Egypt (Except Diplomatic passports), Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan (Diplomatic passports only), Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, North Korea, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia (Except Diplomatic passports), Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen

Give them a ring on 020 7616 6000 and ask them, sure they will tell you if it is going to take more than 7 days in your particular case.

Spent the best part of 40 mins on the phone, but still on hold!

Email enquiry sent - let's see what they come back with.
