Change of address

Post by RAJ007 » Fri Feb 26, 2016 4:24 pm

Hello everyone,

I am currently on Tier-2 (General) visa and I have a valid 3 year visa.

I have currently changed the address, so in that case do I need to inform the Home Office.

And if so, how should I inform the Home Office.

I am sure most of them would have been in my situation , so please help me on this.

You help will be much appreciated.

Many Thanks.

Thanks MoonLight55.

But is this mandatory to inform as I have spoke to lots of people on Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 4 visa and they have never done that.

Please give your view on this.

Many Thanks.

The guidance clearly states that it's a "must". Do you really want to take a risk on your stay in UK just because others have not done it. In the current scenario, I'll not be surprised if HO some day considers this as a breach of visa conditions. I personally think it's not worth it (unless you want to hide something, its a different thing).

I don't think its mandatory but best to have your current address updated with HO especially during a visa extension or if you're expecting letters. You can do it online here: https://eforms.homeoffice.gov.uk/outrea ... pdate.ofml

Thanks moonlight55 and justdoopposite for your advise.

I have updated my new address online.

But do I also need to send the MCC form through post for my change of address ?

Let me know your views on this please.

Many Thanks.

Hi justdopposite

Yes, I got confirmation on my email id for the address change.

So how did you change your address. And did you change the address when you had valid address or
did you change address after you made an application and wait for the result ?

Let me know on this.

Many Thanks.

Hi

I changed my address online, when I had valid leave. Strange I didn't get any confirmation email. How do I know if my address has been updated at their end or not !? :|
