30 day Vignette sticker

Post by glrrajesh » Wed Aug 12, 2015 2:34 pm

Can someone help me on the below issue i am currently facing.

I am on a Tier 2 General VISA living in the UK. I had applied for my Wife & Child under T2 dependent VISA. My wife received the visa on 27th July 2015 and here 30 days expire on 26th August 2015. My Child Visa got refused due to some reasons. I have reapplied with correct documentation on 6th August 2015. Now, if my child (1yr old) visa does not come before 25th of Aug 2015, it would be difficult for my wife to leave my child and travel to the UK.

Could you please suggest me a way which i can do during this situation? What will happen if my wife dont travel within 30 days? I am confused and i need help please.

If your wife is unable to travel within the 30 days validity, she may apply for a replacement, costing £122.

Hi Sushdmehta,

Thanks for your response.

Could you also please let me know how do i intitate this Vignette transfer? Do i need to do a fresh application where it would ask for vignette transfer or is there some other process?

I will also browse the Gov.uk website but if you have this info handy then it would be helpful. THanks

See also UKCISA's advice:(updated)
Information about applying for a new vignette from outside of the UK is contained within the Home Office guidance for staff ECB17.3. You will have to pay £154 for this new application and provide your biometric information again, but you will not have to submit a new Student route application.

If your 90-day vignette is lost or stolen, you will need to obtain evidence of your lost/stolen passport, eg police report of loss or theft. You will then need to obtain a new passport before applying for a new vignette.

You will need to apply online for a Transfer of conditions (vignette transfer). You should select the following options:

Confirm your visa type: BRP Vignette Transfer
Category of application: To transfer or replace your visa (vignette)

In the additional information section you should explain that you have been granted a Student route visa to study in the UK but you need a new 90-day vignette as you have not been able (or will not be able) to travel to the UK before the end of the 90-day vignette that you have been issued; or because your vignette has been damaged, lost or stolen.

Note: You must collect your BRP within 10 working days of entry to the UK, or before the vignette expires, whichever is later.
ECB17.3 Replacing a 30 day short validity (travel) vignette.

No, can't change without applying for a replacement visa.

sushdmehta thanks for reply
So you are saying that the vignette visa dates the 30 days visa is difficult to change so its better to come in NOV collect her BRP and can go back as soon as she wants and come back again in jan2016 .
I also want to ask in the visa application it was written that she would be coming with me but now I am not able to go back and accompany her so would that be ok

Hi, I need some advice regarding my recent Tier 5 YMS VISA. I have applied for this VISA too early and have received my 30-day vignette valid from Oct 9, 2015. Unfortunately, due to family commitments, I am unable to travel until late November. I understand that I need a new 30-day Vignette, however the 'Vignette Transfer' appears to only be for 'Transfer of Vignette to New Passport', is this still the correct option for me? Also, do I need to wait until my current 30-day vignette is valid (ie Oct 9) before I apply for this? I have had a look at the form and there is no option to forward date the VISA I have been given.
Thank you for any guidance or advice!!

Hi Sushdmehta,

Just a quick question. Why do you say it is difficult to change the vignette sticker if you are not travelling within 30 days? Will they delay in giving a vignette sticker with new validity? Also what are the documents we would need to submit along with the application?

Secondly, the VISA others category for Vignette transfer talks about vignette transfer for Lost/Stolen passports. it doesnt say anywhere in the gov.uk website for Vignette sticker expiry and unable to travel.

Please help understand. Thanks

You cannot have the dates changed unless the error was from UKV&I. You must apply for a replacement visa.

Contact local visa application center to check the process of applying for a replacement 30 days vignette (e.g. - which options to select when applying online).

Hi all,

I am in the same situation for my wife. She has the Tier 2 visa but she is unable to come to the UK during the validity of the 30 days entry clearance. I checked the online application and when I choose "vignette transfer" a message appears saying that it is for transferring a valid vignette to a new passport.

Please share if anyone has request a new 30 day vignette so I can decide.

Thanks.

Did anyone have any success getting a replacement vignette sticker? As previous posts mentioned the method appears to be for those wanting to transfer to new passport?
Please share experience as I need to a replacement vignette too for my wife. |

I was also wondering if anyone has had success with this?

I just received my approval (yay!) but my short term vignette 30-day travel visa sticker thingie is valid November 27-December 27... today is the night of December 14th, so they effectively have given me less than two weeks (during the holidays!) to get a ticket and fly out (eeep).

A new vignette is tempting, the cost would essentially be compensated by the cheaper airfare if I can get a little breathing room. But... I am very reluctant to send my passport into the black hole of bureaucracy that swallowed it for three months (I applied in September) without knowing if it will a) come back in a reasonable period of time and b) just repeat the same situation if the new vignette also has most of its valid period eaten up by the processing and mailing process.

So. Has anyone successfully gotten a new short term vignette? If so how did that work and how long did it take?

Hi everyone
We have successfully been approved a new 30 day travel vignette. Due to us not knowing the new rules regarding the 30 day window and because we had planned travel before heading to the UK our vignette lapsed. Therefore we reapplied from Switzerland (which is not our home country), paid the fee, went to another biometrics appointment then sent off the application. Passports were returned within 1 week! We didn't supply any additional supporting documents but explained in the application forms our situation.

The whole process was quite stressful as whenever we emailed or called for assistance we had mixed advice. Even the guy at the Geneva office where we had our biometrics appointment told us we had the incorrect form and would need to reapply for the entire application. Lucky we did not listen to him!

Hi Grahe702. Thanks for your response, it was really helpful. I wanted to ask about what date I should use for my desired date of travel? Do they give you a 30 day period from this date when renewing your vignette or do they give you the vignette for approximately around this date? I would ideally like to travel by the end of march, but as I am not completely sure if i will be able to, I would like to have the flexibility of traveling within those 30 days into April. Thank you

You have applied too early then for a visa. Any visa can be post dated by up to 3 months. August is too far away.

If you can't get him now, there is a cost involved to get a replacement 30 day visa.

Should be fine if they have a letter from you etc. Does your relative have a valid visa for the UK?
