UK citizen working in Eire but paid from UK

Post by Hamza2013 » Sat Mar 12, 2016 7:55 pm

Hi Guys,

Any recommendation on our house rented, is that ok,

Also my pay from UK company is paid in sterling (tax paid in Ireland though).

I receive my pay in uk account please note the uk account address is our Eire address, and then i usually transfer the amount to irish account,

Is this setup ok ?

Your quick response is appreciated,

To avoid confusion & jumbled responses, I have moved your question to its own thread (this one).

I'm dubious about this arrangement.

As you know HO plays hardball with its centre of life requirements wrapper around Surinder Singh.
You may find yourself having to explain why you moved to Eire and why you need to be there if you were in UK before and continue to be paid from UK.

Thanks noajthan,

I have thought about it and i have prepared the responses but would like you to comment on these as best as possible, i moved to Eire for a promotion and better prospect as per my role which includes developing teams, tendering for more work etc etc, i left my pay in Uk account as to get in Eire bank the rate is not good, with regards to the question as why i am paid in sterling then its employer policy and for my benefit to get better rates etc, Are these suitable responses?

I don't think anyone can say for sure. You are in the hands of a caseworker interpreting the UK centre of life rules; that is, a wrapper on top of and not in compliance with EU law on this matter.
