discretionary leave to indefinite leave help

Post by sir17 » Mon Jan 11, 2016 12:47 am

Hi, please can anyone help. I was 1st granted dlr on November 2009 for 3 years then another 3 years in July 2013 which expires in July 2016
Question is since November 2015 would have been already 6 years of dlr can I apply for ilr before July?
I have not done life in UK test do I need to do that first before applying for ilr what form and documents will I need?
Also note the dlr was for article 8 I think as am married to a British born.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi sir 17

My colleague was in the same situation as you . You can apply for ILR
Because you are on discretionary leave to remain you won't need life in the uk or English test however to be the safest side good to have if you can.

I am not sure which form should be used.

Regards

Hi All,

I'm in the same boat, my ILR is due in June, i'm on DL to remain on article 8 basis (2nd stage - 2x3).

Can i apply via fast track window service or premium service?
Do i need both Life in the UK and B1?

Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Regards
Juno

Dear moderators.
I would like some advice as the time is close. I'm applying for ILR in May 2016 using the premium service. as my case is little complicated i have been told i should not apply via PREMIUM service!!!
I have passed my LifeintheUk test, going to doing B1 test very soon.
I will be submissting Set(O) application form with following documents.
Passport
Photos of Family and Friends
6 months bank statemnts
6 months payslips
Letter of emplyment confirming how long i have worked with them and Emplyment Contract.
Virgin Media Landline phone/broadband bills for 6months (Proof of Address)
Note: I have lived at the same address for 15 years.
Life in the UK certificate
B1 Certificate
Reference Letters from British family members and friends.

Is there anything else i should be adding to this list?

any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.

I am going to apply for ilr flowing 6 year DLR ( base on family life ) end of this month I am not sure to apply by post or use premium same day service ??!! as I heard same day service is just west the money and they won't make decision say day and will take at least on month to receive decision letter ? what would you recommend ?

Same day service is better than post in most case u get a decision on the same day within 2 hours. I completed 6 years discretionary.
