Work permit + HSMP

Hi all,

I am a new member just started reading a couple of hours back and thanks a lot for having such a useful board.....

I am in this scenario which you may have also experienced before,

I applied for my HSMP in the first week of Feb and my reg number is in the early 12000 and I am still wating for my results .....

My WP expires by the end of APRIL 2004 so ,

1)Am I eligeble to apply for an WP extension when my HSMP is under consideration.

2)Hoping 1) is allowed I do not have my passport (with the HSMP team) so is it possible to get an WP extension without my original passport.

3)If 1) is not allowed what would be the status of my stay in UK?

4) I have got 2 job offers after I applied for my HSMP, Should I send these offer letter to the HSMP team, would it add any value to my case. If it does - has anyone got the address where I should post the offer letter to.

I dont think you are allowed to make two applications at the same time - presumably one superscedes the other. Therefore, one of the applications may have to be withdrawn

Legally staying in the UK until your application is resolved

Yes - you should send those offer letters to HSMP team ASAP. Its good that you have a reference number...Address is the HSMP sheffield office

Yes, but also fone them ASAP, and let them know you are sending additional documents - Quote your reference No. DOB and Nationality

No, unless you used fradulent documents in your HSMP application

The only fear of rejection is my under 28 HSMP application has got a work experience letter just stating the duration and my designation.
What is missing is the roles and responsibilities(Which I came to know very later after I applied).
From my past few message board reading this missing detail would result in instant rejection?

When you let HSMP team know that you are sending additional information - presumably your case will be put on hold - assuming it has not been resolved yet.


Therefore, you now have the chance to rectify any 'short-falls' in your initial application. If your reference letter specified your role and designation, and it is quite obvious to infer from it, that it is graduate level experience..then there should not be any problems

Sorry to open up the topic again. But a slightly different variation of the
same question. So did not want to create another topic for it.

I am planning to apply as an Out of country candidate for HSMP.

But what if the company in UK, I might get an offer from decides to apply
for a work permit while I have an application for HSMP already at the
work permits office.

Is this a conflicting case ?
I understand that work permit takes lesser time NOW than a HSMP.

Hi Anup,

If you have enough points to qualify for HSMP, u can fax appointment order to HSMP team to get HSMP approval in fast-track.

OR

You can withdraw HSMP application and apply for Workpermit.

Yeah if I withdraw one then that should be fine.

But let us say I fax my offer to HO to speed up the process and
also the company files for a work permit and none of them is withdrawn.

In such a case which application will take precedence ?
Or is it that ...which ever gets processed first will be standing and the
other application becomes null and void ?

BTW, I am not yet in such a situation
But just wanted to know what if such a case happens with somebody ?
