Name at Birth

Post by ashwini_k » Wed Mar 16, 2016 6:01 pm

So I applied for my naturalisation, and just got my approval.

My query is that the field "name at birth" is left blank. Is this alright? Or should it be my name as it has not changed since birth?

It is correct. The 'name at birth' is mostly for women who marry and change their names or people who officially change their names by deed poll etc.

Congratulations. We did biometrics on same day and I am still awaiting. I was wondering, do you have an idea why the decision was made on the 23/02 and you only received it today?

May be they sent mail out on a specific day (not daily) or?? mystery

thanks Suzuka, did you get your approval yet?

It is one of the unsolved mysteries of the home office, who knows why it took them 3 weeks to mail the approval..I am just glad that the waiting is over and major steps in the process (Tier2->Tier1->Tier1 renewal (twice)->ILR->Naturalisation) are now complete :)
