ILR Employer letter date (urgent)

Hi all,

Is there a restriction on when the employer letter confirming my Tier 2 G employment should be dated?
Should it be 28 dates before the application similar to the bank statements or can they be about 2 months old?

Company has announced fresh set of redundancies, and I'm worried as my appointment is on 26th April.

I couldn't find anywhere in the guidance or form about the dates. I usually ask my employer to give me letters with a date within a week(don't think it is a requirement) of visa application date. Since you said they announced redundancies what are the chances of getting the letter confirming employment for long period?
