I have answered his questions based on what he said, quoted below and his subject says both born abroad. Having ILR and automatic child citizenship is only relevant if a child is born in the UK after a parent has ILR.tiredoftiers wrote:CR001
I understand from his Subject(of the post) one of his child born after his ILR, does it not make any difference?
My wife and 2 kids stay abroad (indian nationals)
interesting !!!Having ILR and child citizenship is only relevant if a child is born in the UK.
Amended my statement slightly to avoid confusion. Additionally, a child born in the UK before a parent has ILR, has an entitlement to register as British once a parent does get ILR.tiredoftiers wrote:interesting !!!Having ILR and child citizenship is only relevant if a child is born in the UK.

Children born abroad to non-British parents are not British.ukguyinlondon wrote:I am currently on ilr and hoping to get my citizenship/passport in the next few weeks (just got naturalization approveD)

question: once i get my bc (hopefully in few weeks) what route should I take for my 2 kids - (for wife i guess spouse visa is the preferred route)
1) can i apply for kids bc ?
...
any pointers or suggestions - greatly appreciated.
thanks
Yes and both your spouse and children will need 5 years residence before qualifying for ILR.ukguyinlondon wrote:Thanks Cr001
Yes ok that helps and clarifies the confusion around this.
Yes you were right in assuming (both born abroad)
I couldn't apply earlier due to various reasons, circumstances etc. (even though my wife has been here previously under tier1 g dependent)
Yes I do meet (above) the financial requirement...
So I will have to go with the normal spouse visa + dependent route with nhs charges etc...
Thank you.
