IELTS

Post by jaggu_maggu » Thu Dec 20, 2007 4:22 pm

Hello Everyone,

I am applying for HSMP extension on FLR (HSMP) form.
Having done my MSc from UK university, do I still need to appear for IELTS?
or do I need to provide a english language proof letter of my Bachelors degree from India?

Any help much appreciated.

Thx

Hiya,

You need to either:

1. Get a certificate from the University where you Graduated (Bachelor's). Remember that this should be the same body that awarded you the Bachelor's degree (and not, e.g., a college within the University)

OR

2. Take the IELTS.

In case 1 above, a University that awarded Master's is not valid since the HO does not consider that a person will gather enough fluency on a shorter duration course like a Masters... so it has to be the Univ. that awarded a Bachelor's Degree.

You can also show your expired IELTS test results, if you have one, which is only allowed in the case of HSMP extension.
