Will I have to apply for skills assessment?

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have worked in bank as the IT Specialist for 26 month and after it bank rased me to IT Manger. I have 18 month work experiance as IT Manager.

Now I would like to know, will I have assessed in my nominated occupation that is in Skill Occupation List? I mean will have to pass some exam or showing related documents that I have abouve mentioned work experiance is enough?

I ask it because from Application from for General Skilled Migrants I see:

Skilled Independent (subclass885) Requirements:
1. bla bla bla
2. I have applied for skills assessment in your nominated occupation from the Skilled Occupation List (SOL)
