A "premium" sponsor is no higher rated than an A-rated sponsor. Premium purely means they have paid extra to the UK government in an attempt to get quicker handling of their CoS allocation requests/renewals. Like almost everything else in this current government there is a route for everyone (let's call it the slow lane), and a "premium" rate where you pay through the nose to get what you should have got in the first place.
A sponsor who decides they might need 1 more CoS in their allocation can wait up to 18 weeks for that to be given the go-ahead, whereas a premium employer gets it straight away.
Premium does not affect employees - only sponsors.
