Child born wheredrcalm wrote:Hi,
Myself (EEA dependent) and my wife (Italian resident) just had a baby, and we would like to apply for a visa for him.
Not sure what's the right route to take.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
Child cannot acquire Italian Citizen if mother is not an Italian herself.ohara wrote:A visa for which country?
The child should have inherited Italian citizenship through the mother at birth, and possibly your own citizenship depending on the nationality laws in that country.
If either of you had settled status (PR or ILR) in the UK before the child was born, it will have automatically acquired British citizenship by birth too (but if not, it is entitled to register once one of the parents is settled).
A good application of logic, but actually Mrs Calm is Italian, and is a worker working in the UK.Obie wrote:from the post, it seems that the mother is resident only.

Or all of the above?noajthan wrote: not yet have settled status in UK but you do possess a UK RC dating from March 2014.
What is your quest?
Is it a route to citizenship / passport for your child?
If so, then for which citizenship(s): French, Italian, Israeli, British?
