PeatD wrote:I'm in a similar position and am getting worried. Applied as the non married partner of my Italian boyfriend. Sent Feb 11th, payment taken Feb 26th. But nothing since, no reference number or letter. I called HO 2 weeks ago and they said I would receive some kind of confirmation within 4 weeks of payment being taken, but I've still had nothing. Starting to worry as I need to request my passport back for travels in July and because my Australian drivers licence is about to expire (so I need to send it back to Australia for a replacement); don't want to be without ID.

I'm reading fairly mixed experiences on this forum? Can anyone please advise if theres anything I can do? Thank you!
Hi PeatD,

I had a similar situation as you, but just received my biometrics letter which took almost 8 weeks to arrive. Calling the HO is unhelpful as I received two different answers from two different people. First that it took upto 6 weeks and second that there's no timeline, add what they told you and that's 3 versions.

One key and I believe new thing is that they don't send any confirmation letters anymore. They first send the request for biometrics and then the COA, I confirmed this by talking to the HO.

From reading other messages your best bet is to email Eurobiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. In my case they didn't reply. Now that I received the letter I realised that I wrote to them after my biometrics letter had already been created but I assume was stuck in the snail mail. After I submitted my biometrics they did reply to my original email asking for information so they are keeping track of cases.

I think your letter is probably already in the snail mail and should be arriving soon. Anyways best of luck!

Thank you @DRN, fingers crossed its on the way too! Thanks for the advice, will give that email a try!

Also I noticed you said:
Submitted and payment taken: 1st week Feb
Asked for passport back for emergency travel: 18-Feb
How were you able to request your passport back without getting your biometrics letter, til recently? I need to request mine back too..

It was a family emergency and I didn't care if my application was affected, I thought I would just re-apply once I'm back. Fortunately it wasn't affected but I also have a student visa so I could come back into the UK without any issues. Although it might have been the reason for my delayed biometrics letter? Don't know.

From reading this forum: it seems you can ask for documents back at any point in the application after payment is taken. It takes up-to 10 working days to process the request, but they can do it quicker for emergencies (2 work days for me).

From my experience asking my documents back: you may leave the UK at any point but you have to make sure you can re-enter and I'm not sure a COA is enough to re-enter. Also not leave for too long if there's anything that needs to be done and is time-limited (like the biometrics).

If you can guarantee those two then I believe you are free to travel but take it with a grain of salt since I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks @DRN for your advice! Good news, I actually received my biometrics letter today! Yay!

Funny thing is, the letter actually states that this was a 2nd request for my biometrics enrolment, so looks like the original letter never made it. The letter also states, if you do not understand, then find someone else to help - but does not offer any phone number, email, or website where one could find said help! LOL

@hviveros - if you applied before me (I sent my application off via tracked/express post on Feb 11th, payment taken Feb 26th), I'd try calling again to chase, as two months with nothing just seems ridiculous. The letter I received today said that if i didn't get my biometrics thing done within 10days of the letter received, I'd have to WRITE a letter stating why, within 10 days of receiving the letter. Very dated and inefficient process, which to me, seems to be a catch 22. I mean, how can we notify the HO that we're not able to make the enrolment if we never received the letter in the first place - so dumb! The letter also states that if we do not notify them, or contact them, then the application may just be rejected. So best to keep on it just in case, as frustrating as it is.

Anyways, best of luck - I'll drop another post on here if/when anything else progresses.

Thanks again to the community here for all your posts and answers too :)

Hi, this is my timeline:

10/3/16 Sent via Royal Mail
10/3/16 requested both passports (EEA and NON EEA) using online form.
11/03/16 Received by Home Office.
23/03/2016 Aknowledgment email for EEA application
29/3 /2016 biometric data enrolment letter received
31/3/16 received NON EEA passport

does any know how could I check if the EEA passport is on it's way?
I'm afraid it is lost :(

Thanks!

It's been quite some time. If nothing else works (contacting home office yourself) I would suggest you contact your embassy and they may be able to help contacting the Home Office.

Wow this seems really quick! I sent my application off and had payment taken in Feb and only got my biometrics enrolment letter at the start of April (the first I'd heard/seen anything back regarding my application)! I requested my non-EU passport and my partners EU national ID card back on April 5th and have still not got it.. Did you have any special circumstances @glen1234? And have you got all your documents back now? Im getting really worried, especially about my passport! Why are everyone's timelines so different!?

Yes! Just consider that it is taking longer that usual. But if you believe something might have gone wrong you can write to them.

I got a similar time line to you.
EEA(QP) and (FM) sent together:

08.03.2016. App sent
09.03.2016. App received and payment taken
27.03.2016. Request for passports back sent.
30.03.2016. Biometric issued
02.04.2016. Biometric received
04.04.2016. Biometric sent
08.04.2016. COA with right to work received.
12.04.2016. 2nd request for passports back sent.

Till now no sign of passports.

Hi DRN, Have you received it yet?
I submitted my BioInfo on the 11.04 and still no answer.
Anyone has an idea where to call or email to know much longer do I have to wait?
I can see most you got it really fast.

On this number only tell me to keep wait... 03001232253
And by this email is only Biometrics related... EuroBiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Thanks guys and keep posting that helps a lot!

Hi hviveros,

I received it after 2 emails to them! I seem to have almost exactly the same timeline as you so I will keep you posted with updates. I haven't received my RC.

Cheers,
Federico

Hi everyone,

It has been 5 weeks since the payment for our EEA (FM) application has been deducted but we have yet to hear back anything from home office.

Would like to know if anyone who has submitted their application in mid May have received the biometric letter from Home Office

Our application timeline so far:
Application sent: 10/05/16
Payment accepted: 12/05/16
Biometrics: Pending
COA: Pending
RC: Pending

Hi Twinnies,
Have you received it yet? I sent the application form same date as you, but I haven't received anything include Biometrics and COA. I never feel so frustrated :(
Is anyone send it at same dateline? any update?
Thanks in advance!
