Tier 2 ICT Dependent to Tier 2 General

Hi All

My wife is in the process of switching her T2 ICT dependent visa to a T2G. The COS has been approved but now, the people at the "Visa Specialist" company assisting my wife's company apply for her visa have told her that she would not be able to do the application until she returned home? Basically she would need to go to our home country, South Africa, and then only complete the online form and book an appointment. Is this true?

My understanding is that as soon as the COS is issued, we should be able to complete the form and make and appointment ourselves. We would then need to fly back home and attend the said appointment on the chosen date and time. Am I missing something?

That's correct. She cannot apply from within UK. But, she can fill the application form from UK and get an appointment date later by when she can be in SA.
