Why didnt you just rock up in person at the council and make a booking if you couldn't get hold of them after so many attempts? Thats what I would have done since this is a crucial part of the BC application. Who knows how strict they will stick by the 21 day rule? There might be some hassle arising from this, it would be pure speculation what that is from what posters might tell you. Whatever your understanding of the 21 day rule is, march to the council in person immediately and demand to book your ceremony. I find it unbelievable that for something so important you did not take alternative measures to sort it out.asmiali wrote:Hi
I tried to call the council numerous times and unfortunately today 21 days have lapsed. What does this mean for my approval? Am I in trouble? What can I do?
I believe the OP's concern is that the 21 day notification period has passed.leavetoremain wrote:We just discussed this last week.
I asked the council staff in-person after my citizenship ceremony.
They said contacting them within 21 days and booking the ceremony (standard or private) within 90 days from the date on the approval letter is al that counts. So you got 90 days to attend the ceremony. If you don't get any date then book a private one which I think costs about 85 (quite expensive but I think it is worth it after all the pains non-EU workers have been through to get to this stage).
I think i have seen it on the approval letter from the HOgeriatrix wrote:I tried searching but couldn't find this "21 days to book appointment" rule.
Maybe I didn't search hard and deep enough!
Anyone has the link (to the rule, not council websites that may state the obvious)?
