HELP HELP HELP!! THE ULTIMATE WORK PERMIT CONFUSION POST!!

Hi,

I recently have taken up an offer from a company who has just lodged my application to take over my work permit from my prev company. The application is currently with the home office. I have now taken another role at a different company who is willing to sponsor my work permit. What is the process here? Can my exisiting application be terminated and then re-done? Or do i have to wait for the first application to go through and then get the new company to apply again??

If the HO receives two WP applications at the same time, they will reject. U have to wait for one of them to come thru before applying for another.

2-3 weeks if the app is straightforward, gets extended if there is a query from HO to your employer......

Thanks. I have just spken to the lawyer for the new firm who is dealing with my application. They are in contact with the HO to get it all done once the current application comes through. Fingers crossed in wont go wrong!

I am awaiting approval at present. What happen is i initially accepted an offer where the comany sent my application to the HO. Now i have been offered a better offer with another company who wants to apply for my work permit to work there. So i guess i will have to wait for the first work permit to come through then get the new company to re-apply?

Yes u will have to wait for the first one to come thru and then the new comp can apply
