Irish Citizen Married to a Pakistani Citizen - what to do?

Dear All,

we were married in Pakistan on July 21st 2002 (i was 17 when i was married). We have lived in pakistan for the last 5 years together. My husband is an IT specialist, and we are looking to go back to Ireland. I have been reading a lot online and am very very confused, here are the questions.

1. Can I sponsor him for him and we can go live in Ireland.

2. What will be his status? will he be an immigrant, a citizen, and will he be able to work?

Hubby holds a permenant residence visa for the UAE (i know that does not help but thought would list to get helpful answers)

does he has work permit ? Student visa ? or asylum etc

How can you sponsor him whats your status in Ireland ?

We are both located in PAKISTAN, and travel a lot between pakistan and uae for husband's business.

He is a Pakistani Citizen.

I want to know if we can go live in Ireland, if yes what will be my husbands status? will he be an immigrant? or would he be granted irish citizenship?

I am a Irish citizen hence can I sponsor him so we can both live in IRELAND?
