SELT 'B1' test - ILR application for Dependent.

Post by Samsriv » Wed May 18, 2016 5:12 pm

I am applying for ILR coming July for myself (Primary applicant), wife and 2 kids (less than 18 years age).
My wife completed her B.Tech degree from India before marriage and had ONLY her first name mentioned on the mark sheets and degree. Post marriage, her passport and BRP has different name (first name and surname).
Query -
1. could NARIC reject her degree/ english language supporting letter from University/ mark sheets due to above reason?
2. Is SELT B1 an easier and simpler option than above?
3. If yes, Can I request to be pointed to material available on internet for prep for this test?

Regards,
SS

Yes, B1 is probably easier.

There is no 'prep' for this test. It an English test, nothing to study for.

Hi Sam sriv

the B1 is pretty staright forward, However take it only through approved UKVI source. its £150.00. I took it through Trinity College. They have online videos of the test.

Thanks for your detailed response. Are the online videos enough to prepare or any other way to be ready?
Is this only a 10 mins question-answer session to check how well you understand and speak English? Or any other expectation.... sorry to be asking too many questions!
