Wife's naturalisation application- english degree query??

Post by SKJMR » Mon May 09, 2016 8:42 pm

Hi I got my naturalisation approval 2 days back and ceremony booked in next few weeks,
Planning to apply for partners naturalisation under 3 year rule

1. she has been on ILR in Jan 2015
2. She got life in uk test passed
3. Got engineering bachelors degree from India and letter from the jntu university in India stating degree was thought in English

Previously the Home office accepted her degree qualification for ILR

Can she go ahead and make her application with the same docs for naturalisation
Or
Should we get naric letter for degree compared to UK and also Uk naric letter for English Language as well (2 letters)

Please advice
Note: she has taken ielts but expired in 2011 does that help - just asking

Many thanks
Please advice, depending upon your advice, I will take next action and decide whether to go ahead or get the other documents ready

Cheers

I'd suggest if you have the NARIC done with English assessment. This post is pretty much same case like your wife, so have a look.

Thanks for the info/link shared

so, if i provide naric - english language assessment is good and enough

or i also need get naric- degree comparable certificate as well

i am guessing both the 2 documents issued by naric are different, do you need both or just english language assessment is good

Hi

I did call other day NCS, regarding my wife's appointment for naturalization application
and they asked about english language requirement and asked when did she get ILR, i said after 28th oct 2013 ( she got it on 7/1/2015)and asked me what documents we used to prove english for ILR, i said points based calculator and degree from india/letter from university ,she said use the same documents and it should be fine and she said NO need of UKNARIC LETTERS.

please advise, if that is true or do you think, they have limited knowledge on the changes made recently
and we do not want to waste £1236 money not by providing the correct documents

please anybody with info we would be grateful
