Tranfer of UK visa

If damaged Indian passport are cancelled and issued with new passports.Is it necessary to transfer a british spouse visa from cancelled to new or can I travel without transfering visa carrying both passports.

Is the visa damaged as well? Is the damaged passport still machine readable?

No the visa is not damaged and I am having the barcode on the passport so i assume that it is a machine readable passport
