Hey HSMPQueries,

Congrats on your EC, and all the best for the impending battle.

Can you please paste your status as on VFS site here, so people who cannot get in touch with Mumbai BHC so regularly, can get some clue on their status online.

There was a thread today where people reasoned why cases in BHC have a better turnaround time! This will add some more fuel to the fire:).

Cheers

Thank hsmppune. The status on the VFS website is as follows:

Application date 14 Dec 2007
Status Application is collected on 04 Jan 2008

However, after the VFS told me that my passport is ready for collection, I checked the VFS website and the status was still the same old one "Sent to BHC on 14th December"

Have you applied as a single applicant?

Hi HSMPQueries,

I applied as the principal applicant with my wife as dependant at VFS Pune, on 19th December.

The fact that you got your EC today makes me hope I might also get my EC sometime next week.

Amen ;)

Cheers

Sure hope so. Wish you all the best.

When would you be planning to go to the UK? Also, what field would you be looking for a job in?

If you asked for a courier delivery I guess you should get the passport by tomorrow.

I am sure this suspense is frustrating...

All the best..

Thanks Renuga,

I applied on my own, got a lot of help from this website.

I had informed my direct supervisor about my plans and after taking his consent, I attached his business card with the application. They called him on his land line number to basically verify my joining date, net salary and designation. I also got a letter on the company letter head stating that I was an employee of the organization.

I realize it is difficult to keep your boss in the loop, but I feel it is the best thing to do.

Hi All,

I had a doubt in VAF2 form under the Dependants section. Here questions 6.3.15 to 6.3.20 enquire about the company where the sponsor is working / will be working, contact details of the company, date of joining etc.

I am applying for EC along with my wife and I do not have a UK job offer in hand yet. How should I fill up this section? Should I leave it blank?

Pls help.

Thanks in Advance

I had left these sections blank initially, but the VFS officer made me put in N/A in all these sections.

What kind of balance would the ECO needs to see if you are applying with your spouse? Is it a minimum of GBP 4500? Please advice..

I guess the more you can show the better. I believe you need to show about GBP 2,800 per applicant so about GBP 5,600 should be the safe, unless you have a job offer.

Hi HSMPQuries,

Iam planning to apply for HSMP. Iam planning to apply along with my spouse(House wife). Is it enough if we show the balance of around 5500GBP.

Also Iam planning to take personel loan to show the balance. Is there any problem if we show them as personel loans.

Best Regards

Is a bank balance of GBP 4275 + FD of GBP 2500 good enough for myself and my spouse for EC?

Hi Kiladik - GBP5,500 should be fine, even I took a personal loan, so I guess you are fine. I still feel a little more funds should be better.

FD is also good enough. So reincarnation, you will be fine. How are you showing your accommodation? If you are staying with a friend or a relative that would be helpful.

I have received by EC from 3/1/2008 to 3/1/2010

While applying for the Visa, I applied for me, my husband and my son.
I have and arranged work and have to report to work on 21st Jan, so I have to travel by 19th Jan

But it would be difficult for my husband and my son to join me so soon as there is winding up to be done at home. Also it is extremely cold out there and I don’t want my son to land there in the peak of winter.

My question is since in the VAF2 I have mentioned that my spouse and child will be travelling with me, should they necessarily travel with me or can they travel on a later date?

Also in the VAF2 Guidance notes with regard to my son’s application says

“4.27 If accompanied, please provide full details of up to two
adults who will accompany you
Please provide details of accompanying adult’s full name, date of
birth, passport number, address and telephone number. Up to two
adults may be listed as accompanying you (the child).
These details will be recorded on your (the child’s) visa. If in the
future you (the child) want to travel without the named adults, or
with different adults you (the child) will need a new visa.â€

HSMPQueries,

I intend to stay with my close friend and I have already have a letter from him stating that he would be accomodating me. But, now, if I plan to apply EC for my spouse along with me, then should the letter from him be modified to state that he will be accomodating me and my wife also? Or will the earlier format work?

Bank Balance

Post by kiladik » Tue Jan 08, 2008 6:47 am

Thanks HSMPQueries,

So If I take a personal loan do i need to show all the documents of the loan or only the bank statement is enough.

Also I have MF (mostly tax savings) of around 2lakh and pension plans worth 1 lakh. I believe I can show these things also. Right?

Thanks
KK

You would need to show the loan agreement as well as the bank statement. You are fine showing the MF and pension documents. But as far as possible liquid cash is the best and safest form.

Reincarnation,

You would need to modify the letter if you apply together. Also make sure that you friend clearly states the number of bedrooms available in the house and can accommodate you without over-crowding.

HI ALL,
My time line is
Applied for HSMP Approval at HO - 5 Nov.
got approval and docs - 19 Nov
Applied for EC - 5 Dec VFS Ahmedabad
Integra - done twice as informed by BHC but no idea when and where!!!
Got EC Stamped - 3 Jan
Collected Passport -8 Jan
I want to share that my application DID NOT CONTAIN FOLLOWING DOCS eventhough i got stamped
- Birth proof - No birth certificate and no original driving license
- Accomodation proof - only emails of primary inquiry
- Bank balance around - 4000 pound
- Visa- My student visa for UK was rejected before 5 years

Many have posted about required document but this is my list from which one can get idea.
my list of docs is thanks to my consultant. in his opinion these docs r not required.
After my experience i must advice that nobody should approach consultants. please spare some time for your application and get help from such online forums. everything will be alright.
and at the end i wish all the best to all waiting ppl!! all of u get stamped soon!!
