Hi there
Im a Portuguese resident married to a non EU citizen who is currently visiting me in Lisbon. My husband's Schengen visa will run out on 12th June so we had contacted SEF to ask to organise an extension of 1 week.
SEF said that it is no problem for him to leave Portugal after 12 June but that there is a fee to be paid at the airport in Lisbon when he leaves. Does anyone know what this is? And also anyone have experience of doing this and the implications? It seems a bit strange to be so easygoing on people overstaying visas and I am actually most concerned that it will affect my husband's next application for a visa to visit Portugal.
