My wife similar days, application received on May 10th and since May 20th on second stagellvlludi wrote:I have applied passport for my new born baby and renewal for my 3 years old daughter. Applications were received on 12th of May and since 21st of May it is still on 2nd stage.
I have booked holidays for my family on 15th of June and really hope will get passport before that. I tried to ring passport office but could not reach through due to high volumes of calls. Is there any alternative way to contact passport office?
I do not think the law will be changed now, but it might in future. but nevertheless things seem changed because it has been extremely slow lately. No approvals for circa 3 months. Not sure if it is a change in the willingness or simply they have other priorities. I hope the latest! and that we will hear good news soondublin7777 wrote:Things are very slow this days . I hope the law of citizenship application a not going to be change.
There was a while when the phones weren't even being answer, I was told that they were offline, good to know they work again.xbox wrote:Update:
Contacted INIS today on 06232500 and asked for
1. Status of application -------was told "submitted to minister for decision"
2. Expected turn around -------was told "by end of July"
3. Next Ceremony ------- was told "scheduled in September and dates not confirmed yet"
Does any one contacted them recently by phone?

I emailed recently and got the response:
"Processing of your application is well advanced and you will be informed of
the Ministers decision in due course.
Regards"
Hopefully this isn't just a generic email.

But I am worried about delays after hearing this morning on the news that there has been a surge of applications by Brits for Irish passports since the EU referendum/vote story started . Now its not clear if its only in terms of passports or is it citizenship applications.... This could be really bad news for some of us who cannot afford delays in our applications! Really hope it doesnt affect us.
