That is correct but HO can and sometimes do ask applicants to submit proof of English. There have been a few cases of this on the forum in recent months.

Yes, send your B1 certificate which you already used with your ILR and it should be fine.

I am in exactly similar situation . I got B1 trinity in Feb 2015 and used it to get ILR in May 2015. I rang UKBA and enquired whether I can use old B1 even tho it's not from current approved SELT centre and they said no need to prove English qualification again just tick option which says got ILR after oct 2013 and send your old English certificate as a proof

That's what I did .... I even recorded conversation lol

There is no UKBA helpline any more (if you got through to a 'UKBA' helpline that was an imposter!).

If you mean UKVI/HO (I'm sure you do), be aware advisors are not held accountable for advice however good or bad it may be:

Some recognised test qualifications only last for 2 years. You can still use a B1 level qualification that you took more than 2 years ago in 2 situations.

Applying for citizenship

You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if you’re applying for citizenship and it was accepted when you settled in the UK.

It doesn’t matter if the B1 level test you took isn’t on the current list of recognised tests. You don’t need to take another test.

Applying to settle in the UK

You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

it’s on the current list of recognised tests
it was accepted for another UK immigration application, eg when you got permission to enter

According to home office guidance even if the test is not currently recognised but it was used for settlement previously than you can use it .....

I hear different opinions but from my understanding B1 which j used in April 2015 can be used now.....
It's recognised still but it's not SELT

Maybe CR001 can give clear answer as I find him very experienced.....

This is a forum. Post your question in public so all may help you and/or benefit from the information.

In any case members with under 30 posts cannot use the Board PM feature;
(this is to establish their credentials and to minimise abuse of the system).

Just to let you know that I got naturalisation approved yesterday.

I used Trinity college B1 grade 5 to claim English language requirement. Passed the test from centre in Feb 2015 and used it to get ILR in May 2015.

Used same certificate to claim exemption from another language test by ticking the option on form 'Got ILR after Oct', and entered test certificate number on the certificate and NCS sent a copy along with my documents....
By the way centre which I passed the test in Feb 2015 is not SELT centre anymore but still it all worked for me ....

Good luck to everyone

Sounds like you smashed it - well done.

And, by sharing in public (in the best traditions of the community), your fellow members may also learn from your valuable experience.
