Australian Points System - Moving from UK to Australia

Post by bickpicka » Wed Jan 09, 2008 10:11 pm

Hi

In regards to the points system, can someone pls clarify what the 'pooling' means... We can get 110 points...
How does the 'pool' work and whats the chance of us being accepted? Has anyone been through this?...

The Immi.gov.au website says...

..."The points test pass mark for this visa is 120 points.
If you score less than 120 points but more than 100 points your application will be placed in reserve (the 'pool') and will remain in the pool for two (2) years after assessment. If the pass mark is lowered at any time during the two (2) year period, and your score is equal to or higher than the new pass mark, your application will then be processed further.

If you score less than 100 points, your application will be refused. "...

Thanks

Whilst waiting in the 'pool', How likely is it that the preferred occupation will be taken off the list?

What happens if you havent heard back within 2 years?

Can you re apply?

The points will be lower then as i am 28 at the mo so will lose 5 points when i turn 30...

thanks again!
