Return of passport for test

I wonder if anyone been in this situation my friends got ILR and his wife's application flr m is pending but she applied without English test. Is there any chance that she ask homofice to return passport to prove for id purposes for b1 or a1 English test. Your replys will be highly appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Should be possible. However, passport may not be required for some B1 English test. Did she take an English test that was previously used in a successful application?
