Tier 2 ICT Dependent - Dentistry and ORE

Post by yash_d » Sat Jun 25, 2016 9:51 pm

Hi,

I moved from India to the UK on a Tier 2 ICT Long Term Staff visa in 2014 and my wife has now joined me in the UK. She is on a Tier 2 ICT Long Term Staff Dependent visa, and she is an experienced dentist (BDS from India).

She is currently preparing for her ORE exams, but i am unclear about whether she will be able to work as a dentist in the UK even after she clears the ORE exams.

Can someone please advise?

Thanks in advance!

What condition is written on her visa/BRP?

The only condition mentioned on the Visa is "No recourse to public funds".

I understand that typically to work for NHS, vocational training is required after passing the ORE exams, and one of the questions i had was whether she can work as a dentist in training on the Tier 2 ICT Dependent visa upon passing the ORE exam. Note that there is nothing mentioned on the Visa about her not being able to work as a dentist in training.

The simple answer

If dentist in training is required in order to practice in the UK then she is unable to undertake the training as it would be a breach of her current visa conditions.
