Spouse Visa - must British sponsor be resident in U.K?

Hi Everyone,

I am a British citizen living abroad (non EU country) with my husband.

Can I be living abroad at the time of us submitting his spouse visa application?

Or must I return to U.K permanently first?

We would be applying under cash savings, accommodation at mother's house, she is sole resident in three bedroom property, inspection done.

I am returning to U.K any way next month, so we can wait and my husband can submit the application after I have left for U.K. It will just delay us by about three weeks.

I have a one way flight ticket and paid invoice which I was going to include with the application.

I would appreciate your comments.

You can be resident in another country when you act as a sponsor for your spouse.

I assume your savings have been in an account and untouched for at least 6 months?

I am not very knowledgeable on the savings route as I will be applying for Cat A earnings.

Thank you both, yes your assumption is correct, we have over 62.5 k plus extra for currency exchange fluctuations, it's untouched for 6 months. Best of luck with your application.
