Tier 2 Visa Curtailing Question

Hi there,

Just quick one, when you resign from a position on a Tier 2 General visa, does HR have to report this straight away to the UKVI or do they only do this After your end date? If they have to do it right away, will the visa get curtailed after your end date? Or during the notice period?

Your employer is obligated to inform HO once you have left their employment. HO can take a few weeks to send you a curtailment letter.

Can the employer contact the HO the day you resign and that will kick off the curtailment process? Or can this only happen after the last day of employment? Or does it depend on the employer?

This one. You are still employed by your sponsor in your notice period.

Sponsor has the duty to report that you are no longer employed no later than 10 working days after your last working day.

Curtailment is not a particularly quick process thereafter. It is likely to take some weeks before UKVI contact you. The 60 days only starts from that point.
