Hi

Feeling lost and no where to turn to with my wife's visa . We sent the application on the 8/06/2016 and we haven't been a conformation of delivery from the Royal Mail . My wife's visa is due to expire on the 15/06/2016 which is Now . We've tried to get Royal Mail to confirm it has been delivered but not having much luck. We have proof of postage that the visa application was sent on the 8/06/2016 which was a week before expiration. Feeling a bit lost on what to do .

Just got all my documents back and my visa has been approved!

Applied: April 21
Confirmation and biometrics letter: April 27
Letter about NHS surcharge fee: April 27
Biometrics done and fee paid: May 3
Letter for bank details: June 10 (sent the 8th)
Sent bank details next day delivery: June 10
Documents returned: June 15
Biometrics: Waiting

We just hit the 8 week mark and I was starting to go into panic mode. So relived now

Were you able to track your visa? That was the only way we knew it was delivered. Other than that you just have to wait for the HO letter that it has been received. From my understanding is that as long as you are in the process, if the visa expires it is okay. It's only if you apply after it expires that issues come up.

Finally had some answers from Royal Fail . Apparently when it went through the processing at Tyneside mail centre the special delivery sticker got accidentally removed . It was given another reference number and then sent on ! Nice to let us know as my wife's name and address was on the front of the package ! Royal Mail have a contact for the home office and they got back to them today . They got a reply this afternoon saying that the home office had got it and gave us the new tracking number

Wow, I can't believe that. I would be livid. Glad it got there finally though! Hopefully it will be a quick process here on out for you :) Don't worry about the visa expiring though, from what I have read is that if its in the process of application and expires you're okay. :) Best of luck! I just got mine back today, 8 weeks on the mark lol

Hi Guys,

I had my interview last week and did well in it. My wife also was interviewed and answered almost all questions correctly. Is anybody waiting for an answer after the interview? They said it takes 2-3 weeks but this is so nerve wrecking. :(

I had my interview on April and they told us we would get a decision in 2-3 weeks maximum . It's now 8 weeks after the interview and over 5 months since we applied and no decision or update yet . We even tried writing to Sheffield 3 weeks ago and they have not replied .

Sorry to hear that Dezy455. I hope they come back to you soon.We applied in Mid March and they waited until the 2 months had passed to invite us for interview. The interview I felt was only to test if we were a genuine couple. It didn't really go into any detail about whether there is anything outstanding in the application. How hard can it be to inform the case worker that the couple is genuine. You can do that in day. They set deadlines for us but for them deadlines do not exist.

Hi all

Does anybody applied for FLR(M) with a passport in the maiden name and bank statements/bills/correspondence etc. in the married name?

Thanks

Sent my application in April. Rejected on the basis that our relationship isn't genuine (although we live together for the past 3 years of our marriage, with proof of marriage certificates, we sent pictures, letters, bank statements etc.)

Hired a solicitor who now told us they are still waiting to hear from the courts.

I am going mental not being able to travel, work and being stuck at home almost everyday. This is really getting on my nerves

Hi,

Applied: 07.04.2016
Payment taken: 13.04.2016
Confirmation and biometrics letter: 15.04.2016
Biometrics done: 16.04.2016
Letter about NHS surcharge fee: 21.05.2016
Payment of NHS surcharge fee: 23.05.2016
Letter requesting further proof of cohabitation from Jan - June 2014 & May - June 2016: 21.06.2016

I have a gas bill in both our names for May and June 2016. For Jan - June 2014 we were living in my partners grandparents house with no lease. We have no letters from this period, hence no tangible proof. Will a Statutory Declaration from our landlord be sufficient for this period?

We have provided tenancy agreements, letters etc from June 2014 - April 2016 already, with the additional evidence of May - June 2016 which brings evidence to 2 years cohabitation be enough without the evidence of Jan - June 2014?

Hoping someone else has experience with this, or has supplied a stat declaration in the past.

Thank you

Hi everyone,

I'd sent my wife's application form on 11 June by special delivery.
It was signed and collected on 13 June.
Payment was collected on 17 June.

And that's it. We haven't heard anything back from them. Not one acknowledgement letter or a letter to do the biometrics.

Most of you here have received letters from HO within a week, so why so late for us?

I'm wondering if the post office might've lost the letter.

What shall we do? Should we wait another week then try to contact HO?

Please advise.

Studio flat should be enough for a couple. In theory you do not need a survey report as you are not sharing.

If you are renting you need, your tenancy agreement and a letter from the landlord stating that you are allowed to have your partner join you at the property.

You need council tax bills and utility bills to back up that you are living there etc.

If you own the flat you will need:
Land Registry extract (can be got online for £3)
Copy of mortgage statements (if applicable)

It might be worth getting an inspection report anyway as I read someone recently was asked for one on a property even though they were not sharing with anyone else. You can ask your local council or RICS surveyor to see how much. It's your choice whether you apply without or with, there are no hard and fast rules about the survey so it's at the discretion of the ECO form what I can tell. If it was me (my advice only, take it or leave it) I would be tempted to get one, better to supply it and it be not needed than not supply it and get rejected for it.

Hope this helps?
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it, the long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists

Whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience

hello all, i have a few questions from those that have successfully submitted the FLR(M). I need to apply for additional 2.5 yrs extension for my wife and daughter soon and want to know how what option you guys pick for section 2 of the application form.

2.1 Please tick a box below to show us the category in which you are applying for an extension
of stay in the UK and to confirm that you are also applying for a biometric immigration document.

selected: Spouse of a person present and settled in the UK and a biometric immigration document.

for section 2.2 - selected Yes

my question is what to select from applicable 2 options below from section 2.3 below as my family came from outside the UK for initial 33 months visa and they need to extend for further 2.5yrs extension. all they arrived with 2 months of their visa

2.3 Please indicate what stage of extension of leave you are applying for or why you are
choosing to extend your current leave in one of the above categories.

First period of leave to remain (following an initial period of entry clearance as a partner of a
settled person, or following an initial period of entry clearance as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil
partner of a settled person - 6 months)

Second period of leave to remain (following initial grant of leave to remain).

This is my understanding and hope it helps

After getting entry clearance you apply for FLRm ( which is the first extension ) If you apply too early for that extension you will not make it to ILR. to get ILR the applicant must have lived in UK for five years.
so you have to apply for FLRm again to make up the shortfall ( that would be the second extension)
Or in another scenario the applicant has changed the immigration process track and is having to extend more than once ?

My wife has passport in maiden name but all the supporting documents will be in married name. I think that will be ok.
Has anyone submitted the same English Langugae cert again for FLRM as the one that was used for entry clearance as we are considering doing that becuase my wife passed IELTS 3 years ago ( B1) that was accepted to get entry C and that centre is still approved ?

our time line
Preparing for FLRM due in November 2016
getting all the documents ready.

I have applied through FLR (M). Please see dates below:

27/04/16 : Application Sent
19/05/2016: Letter received confirming receipt
24/05/2016: received letter for biometrics along with letter saying payment was not made due to wrong details.
25/05/2016: Biometrics done & resent cheque payment

Is any one in the same situation or has any one been in this situation before? please advise on how long it took to hear back from UKBA.

FLR(M) Extension

Post by gsgs13 » Tue Jul 12, 2016 7:29 pm

Hi Everybody,

Could you please advise me as I am going to apply for another 2.5 yrs Flr M extension.
Expiry date is 17 September 2016. I think we can apply 28 days before the expiry date.

Q1. Is it 28 working days or including weekends?
Q2. I want to use premium service and if I apply on 17/18 August 2016 will I get 31 months extension or only 30, as for ILR we have to complete 5 yrs. If I get 30 months then I won't complete my 5 Years in same category visa. But I came in uk in 2009 never overstayed or no illegal record.

Its straight forward case My mrs british and one kid british born.

Thanks for your help in advance.
