Here is a precedent worth sharing:
HSMP participant was given initial EC of one year.He had a dependent child who had exceeded 18 years of age when FLR(HSMP) became due for the family. Application of the aforesaid child was separately filed on FLR(O) form and facts were explained in the covering letter.Whereas in covering letter filed with FLR(HSMP) of main applicant it was explained that for a over 18 dependent child a separate FLR(O) is being filed simultaneously. When FLR of main applicant was approved then photo copy of his residence permit page of passport was sent to FLR(O) team. Residence permit of further 4 year was stamped on the 16th day of sending the FLR(O). When ILR would become due child would be of almost 23 years of age and can get ILR if still dependent on main applicant.
