Tier 2 sponsorship for web designer developer

Post by robin_k » Thu Jun 30, 2016 7:49 pm

Hi All,

Currently i am holding a dependent visa and about to a join company. The company is into housing development / construction. They are ready to sponsor my visa under 2137 code of practice (Web designer & developer). I consulted the same with a solicitor and he told me, if i will apply visa under this code, then there is the possibility of rejection of my visa. He said that home office might ask what is the need of a web designer & developer in a housing development company. Pay to a local company who can manage all this thing. Why to hire?

I am so confused. i don't know what to do ? Please guide me Thanks.

Regards
Robin

First of all, I Have a few questions which may be irrelevant.

Which dependent visa are you holding?
Are you not allowed to work full-time with it?

If I assume that you need a work VISA.

As long as the company has a Tier-2 Sponsor license and did an RLMT you will be fine. These days almost every company requires an IT Consultant / Web Developer .

Thanks a lot mate. I am on Tier2 ICT dependent visa which will expire in couple of month. With this dependent visa i can work full time.
Company has done a RMLT and then i got selected for this position.

I have the same opinion but i dont know why the solicitor saying it is not possible.
Please suggest should i request company to proceed futher.

Thanks

If I were you, I would go ahead with the same SOC code. There is no UKBA guideline that states which SOC codes are relevent to which businesses.

If your employer did everything right and if you are being paid at or above the SOC code, I do not see a VISA rejection.

The whole idea in doing an RLMT is to prove that they did not find anyone else suitable apart from you.

I am a web designer and I would totally disagree with that advice of your solicitor!

Hi

I dont think you have the code 2137 in the latest SOC list, so you wont be able to extend or apply for new visa in that code for web developer

I have checked the Latest SOC List which was released in November 2015
