@Muzzba - any update? There is a service to switch from postal to priority. £400 per person. Wanted to get your thoughts if switching would make a difference? Or will it still end up as more checks needed (exceptionally complex)

Thanks

@lugansk hi no update yet, I wasn't told about this service by any home office executive. However, they did mention that if there is a complex issue it wouldn't matter what sort of application you are in they will still need to do thorough investigation.

Also, if you read some earlier posts there are candidates who applied for priority but still had to wait due to the exceptionally complex scenario

Hi Muzzba,

Yes, the helpline says you should withdraw etc.. But there is a service mentioned by the moderator in the forum: https://www.gov.uk/faster-reply-visa-application

The webpage mentions the settlement applications only but the form has the option for NTL (No time limit) application.

Hi all, I received a letter stating that there are exceptionally complex issues and my matter will not be decided within 8 weeks. I received that letter last week. I wrote to the Home Office (please note I also had some personal circumstances and needed the decision ASAP) and my case was considered and I got the approval letter yesterday.

Well, it is quite common to contact a local mp if the application is being delayed that long. Was it a Tier 2 Extension?

You can explain your situation to your MP and they will chase the UKVI on your behalf.

@juligi is it so I didn't know they would do that for immigrants. That's something I should give a thought to. Thanks for the help

Contact MP - no guarantees but worth a shot:

Hi Juligil,
Your information are really helpful. Thanks for that.

Had you applied for an extension or was it a new employer/new COS ?

Regards,

My company says that its quite common these days due to the increased number of applications. Is this kind of delay so common ?

@ Muzzba - no update at all. Decided to pay extra and use the switch service (Post to Premium) but received an email saying that this kind of application is not applicable for the switch service. I then wrote a letter to the caseworker. Received a template response.

Its been more than 6 months and I am running out of options ;( Not sure what to do. Called UKVI today, and to get the same response!!! continue to wait...
