Tier 2 Visa Extension

Any help on this is appreciated.

I am planning to renew my T2G visa soon. My employer tried to assign a CoS and an error was shown regarding not enough allocation. My Employer has now requested using the annual allocation from SMS for T2G allocation.

1) Do I need a restricted or unrestricted CoS ?
2) Have my employer done the correct process to receive the unrestricted CoS ?
3) How long does it take to it allocated ? Employer applied today (18th July 16)

assuming that u have currently tier 2 and you are extending with same employer, u need un restricted cos. They have done it correctly, provided they asked for unrestricted.
it take between 2 days to 4 weeks to get a new cos allocation.

I was next to them when they did it, there wasn't any option to say restricted or unrestricted.
It just asked for quantity:1 and Category:Tier 2 hence the confusion

and yes on Tier 2 now, same employer same category

Hi,

The annual allocation is for unrestricted COS only. Allocation of restricted COS is on demand basis.
