There is no point in having a SMS update for passport surrender as there is no in-person collection for the processed application and application will be anyway sent by post (same goes for OCI). Even if we need to track, we can do so online as most of us, if not all of us do it already.Please be advised, you can say NO TO THE SMS service.
Even if you have paid without realising it, you are entitled for a refund (classic case of mis-selling!).
