Guys,

No change today...I am waiting for tomorow morn cos i wil call the BHC as they said within today or max by tmrw i shd get decision...so will check if it wil be done..if they say doubtfully, i wil ask them to conect to caseworker,since this provision is there at HO why don they do it at BHC..i wil not keep the fone down unless i hear a confirmation tat it will be done tmrw..also if nt tmrw..i am travelg to chenai on weekend and meeting the BHC in person..i want my pasport more than my EC..

winmano , i think they answer calls only from 8.30 to 10.30 AM in the morning - i heard on this forum.

If you are calling BHC then it should be between 8.30 to 10.30 AM in the morning and for VFS south(aka chennai vfs) it is 3.00 to 4.00 PM

and the alternate way is sending a mail to them as then lines are always busy, email id's are
BHC - Chennai.VisaEnquiry@fco.gov.uk
VFS South - vfsuk.south@vfs-uk-in.com

looks like no one has got result today - lets hope for the best for tommorrow - as per Jason's prediction - all upto dec 21st shud get by tommorrow

and the rest of us dec last week applicants by early next week !!

Lion , pls confirm if BHC would be open the weekend before travelling there - do you really believe that they will work saturdays

as today was holiday for mumbai bhc.... i think they are sleeping but i cant sleep well at night....

today I received an email stating that my EC is through, what a relief, now comes the another tough part getting a good job in UK. Can any one of you help in this regard? My case details -

Applied for EC on - 14th Dec
Applied from - Bangalore
EC approved - Jan 17th

am goin to BHC on monday only, i have taken max risk with my company already and i will nt mind to take 1/2 days of leave to get the decision out or pull my passport back from them...the latest update from me is my company has strictly told me if i want the UK travel i shd get my EC by monday else shd withdraw my EC application from BHC & submit my docs for WP visa on wednesday..

you will get that when you send a mail to bhc and not for vfs

Congrats kapil blr !, yours has taken around 19 working days to process - but how come you got an email with the ec result ; do you mean an email reply to your initial email asking the status or they themselves proactively sent an email ? your docs are on way in courier is it ?

kapil blr , please share with us whether you had submitted a job offer in UK evidences along with EC application or only job search / interview calls

For those for whom it might help
Applied for EC on 14 dec.
Collected the Passport with visa from vfs chennai today.
Visa is dated 14th jan but status was updated on their website only today.

you are slightly confusing cos whenever they take decision they update the website as "Processed application delivered to Blue Dart on XX XXX 2008"...If we opted for courier service..Also when we opted for courier service they don t send email about the case decision..we shd only check it thru SMS or online...also for others who dint opt for courier, they will get a email/phone call once decision is made..

I assume you had not asked for courier and tats the reason they dint update immediately..otherwise for ppl who asked for courier the SMS/online will be updated promptly..i suppose BHC does atlest ths correctly..

Dear friend,
I have send an email to Chennai.VisaEnquiry@fco.gov.uk proactively on 15th January. Y'day (16th January) I got an auto reply and todya (17th January) I got good news.
I have attached couple of email stating about interviews, but none of them was confirmed and till now I havn't got any job as most of the people want candidate should be in UK itself.

My status is changed to the following " Processed application delivered to Blue Dart on 17 Jan 2008" hope I will get the passport with visa stamp by tomorrow..I checked around 7:15PM IST not sure when the status was changed..

I applied for stamping on Jan 2 2008 from bangalore VFS.
Looking at the present scenario in the forum,
I can very well make out that I need to have a long wait.

Quote them all the statistics about 2lakh visas, divided by so many centres, by so many days, by so many case workers equal to your case.. If they say sorry, then you know what to say

I have applied for HSMP 20 Dec, got Ref. No on 14-Jan and have applied for urgent treatment as well on 14-Jan. Awaiting for Approval, keeping fingers crossed.

I have a query related to EC, didn't get any response(http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=22490). Having been following this thread for a long time, thought you guys might help me out.

My employer in UK is arranging accomodation for me and I could most probably get sponsor for 3000 pounds too from my employer. Will this help in EC and what documents should I get from my employer in related to this?
