Please help me
I submitted my application for ILR by post two weeks ago based on my work permit. The question I have is that in 2003 when the Working Tax Credits were introduced, I made an error and applied for them even though my VISA stated that I had no recourse to public funds. Back then there was confusion about who could recieve them. Anyway I only received them for a few months and I had them stopped before 2004. On the Home Office website I stumbled across one of their publications which stated thea "...........
if you applied for child or working tax credits before January 2005, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs(HMRC) may have paid them in error. If so, HMRC will stop the payment. Any tax credits you did receive before the error was corrected will not count as recourse to public funds". Do you think this will affect my application???????. I have been so sick with worry. Can someone out there please help me?

Some people just want reassurance.

Indeed
however her understanding was so clear, I found it slightly incredulous.
So the answer is no MR reassurance pointer outer.

Err, help you with what? The website quite clearly states that these credits will not count as recourse to public funds, so what more do you need to know? It's pretty clear cut in black and white!
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.
