FLR(M) - postal application received

Post by jamphi24 » Thu Aug 18, 2016 8:40 am

Hi
I have posted in an application for FLR(M) and sent via special delivery so have signed proof of receipt, however would be good to have proof the visa application has been received by correct department and will be processed. Question is will UKBA email, call, post a letter to confirm receipt?

Thanks for help.

Can you not track it on Royal Mail?

They don't send a 'confirmation of receipt'. Sometimes they send an acknowledgement, sometimes they don't.

UKBA no longer exists, since 2013. It Home Office or UKVI now.

In my experience if you have posted within the UK then you will receive a letter confirming receipt. This would be followed by a letter informing you of the process to get the biometrics done.

My timeline for these initial steps was

Application sent 14th June
Application signed for 15th June
Application received letter dated 21st June
Biometrics letter dated 22nd June

The UKBA won't email you! The UKBA were disbanded in March 2013 due to being 'unfit for purpose' and were superseded by the UKVI.

You're worrying unnecessarily. You have confirmation that your application has been received and rest assured it will reach the 'right department' internally.

You may or may not receive an acknowledgement but are likely to simply receive a letter requesting biometrics. The visa fee disappearing from your bank account is always a good clue.

Edit: Beaten by Miss Speedy Fingers CR001. It appears jamphi24 already has a signed proof of receipt! :|
