Schengen Visa - Clarification

Post by Mercyknight » Fri Aug 19, 2016 11:32 am

Hey guys,

My wife was issued with a multi entry (type c) Schengen visa which is valid for 6 months. It does say 30 days on it as well.

Does that mean that she can use a total of 30 days within that 6 month period? Or can she leave back to the UK and then go back again for another 30 days.

How do they know if you've been in a country more than 30 days?

Usually they are 90 days validity. Is this a first one? Normally it's 90 in any 180, you can exit and reenter.

In this case once the 30 days is 'used' you need to apply for another one still subject to 90/180 rule.

They track usage via SIS, Schengen Information System so don't consider trying to beat it!
