HSMP Extension gap of six months within the stay

A friend of mine who is on HSMP(Two years initial grant) has set up his own business(consultancy). He needs to spend around 6 months out of the country during his first year because of business reasons.Would that pose any problem on his extension after 2 years??

If he out of UK for more than 3 months for business reasons (i.e, sent by the employer ) absolutly no problems. He just need to get a letter from employer that he has been out of UK officially

or if he is out of UK for more than 3 months for personal reasons, it is completly with caseworker decision. I hope he shouldnt take any hard decisions based on this if all other criterias are satisfied

however this may affect even ILR application, in this same scenario. Spending 5 more years from the date of that 6 months break will solve the issue

He has been in UK on work permit for 15 months and then switched to HSMP to start his own business .After his initial grant he left the country for HSMP he left the country for 2 months and came back for 4 months and again wants to go for 4 more months.Will that pose a problem for extension?

Actually he has opened an IT company with head office in London and few branch offices in India.He needs to visit India to open two more offices.London Office secures contracts in UK which are processed in Indian Offices.

In terms fo the ILR, please check the guidance, there are things in it that require a judgment call and the person in question only knows all the details to figure it out.
Second based on your answer regarding his need to be out of the country, these reasons are sound except my concern would be how much money is making doing all this setting up. Depending on when his renewal is due, he may not meet the threshold which is why I was asking for your timings. What your provided was more helpful but insufficient.
