Post by Ajay Kumar Singh » Thu Dec 30, 2004 6:58 pm

Should i send following documents with my FLR application:
1) NI Card
2) NHS Card
3) Pension Contribution
4) Medical Insurance

1 & 2 i don't want to send.
3 & 4 i'm in favour of sending as my hard earned money sinks there ..
What you guys suggest ..

Ajay,

( Sorry if I am diverting the topic of thread)
How did you get the NHS card? We visited two surgery offices recently and they says we can apply only after 6months stay. Was there a rule like that? I checked the NHS website but didn't find anything such.

One of my friend says, in some surgeries they do and some don't. Can you throw some light on this.

regards
Chandra

Hi Chandra,
In fact when I landedd in Uk, after a week i got a letter from the council saying, medical arrangements for long stay immigrants and i took that letter and myWP and passport and i was registered with a surgery in 5 minutes.
When we do our check at the immigration at London, we give our address where we r going to stay in UK, So they must have send that address to the appropriate county and their council has given me the letter about medical thing.
If you didi't get it just go to surgery at your place with WP and passport and register. If you are in Leicester area, then no worry i have my uncle who has a big surgery of his own. Just let me know where u are.

Cheers

Chandra I was lucky ;)
I'm not sure of these surgeries but luckly i went to a nearby hospital, and that was all i neede to do.
I think you can search for a nearby hospital on NHS website and try to register there.
