HSMP to tier 1

Hi All,

just wanted ur opinion on that. If somebody is on HSMP visa for last 4 years and will qualify for ILR in August 2008 how will he apply for ILR under HSMP As HSMP willbe replaced by tier 1. Will he automatically be converted in Tier 1 General sub category or he has to again qualify first for tier1 and then apply for ILR under Tier 1 general sub category?
