Tier 2 Dependent Visa - No Unabridged Marriage Cert

Hi All

I am hoping someone can please help me with some info.

I want to apply to go onto my wife's Tier 2 visa as a dependent (both South African passport holders). What our issue is we are struggling to get our Unabridged Marriage Certificate from the South African HHome Affairs (no surprise really) after applying about 5 months ago, some missing form internally from their side.

Can I use the Abridged Marriage Certificate instead? Can give them a copy of our marriage contract, wedding photos, affidavits of attendees etc?

Hope someone can help.

Is the form asking for an unabridged version? Why do you think the unabridged one is needed?

If you have the handwritten and abridged printed ones this should be accepted.

Unabridged marriage certs are only mandatory for UK Ancestral visas as far as I am aware.

The missing form at Home Affairs is called the BI-30 form which our Marriage officer handed in after our wedding. There are 3 copies of this that are handed in, all three copies seem to be missing within the Home affairs system. Hence without them tracking this down we can't get an Unabridged Marriage Certificate.

But saying that, we are in possession of the written Marriage Certificate and the printed abridged certificate.

We just not sure if it has to be the Unabridged or will the others we have currently be sufficient?
