Anyone planning to apply for FLR(HSMP) after March???

Post by boonworkpermit » Sun Jan 20, 2008 6:36 pm

Hi,

I hope someone can shed some lights on my case.
I'm switching from WP to HSMP, and got the approaval letter
that is valid from 31-Dec-2007.
I'd like to let the current leave run as long as possible
and file for FLR(HSMP) in May, which is after the new PBS kicks in.
Are there any risks in doing so that I'm not aware of?

FYI:

I have just called the HSMP team and asked about
the validity of my HSMP approval after march.
Basically, the guy on the phone said that my approval
will remain valid until 31-Jun-2008.

However, any application for FLR after March will have to
adhere to any changes regarding the FLR (which are not known
at the moment).

Basically, I don't need to reapply for Tier1 under PBS. However,
if there are any additional documents requested for FLR application,
I will need to supply those documents.

Hi

I'm on the same boat. Converted from WP to HSMP in Dec 2007.
Rang HO and they confirmed that I still have till Jun 2008 to apply for FLR.

No need to re-qualify under Tier 1 untill next extension (obviously, but HO lunatics leaves a lot be be desired).

However, my worry is that they may increase the FLR fee after March.

Thats great info. But do you think it will be possible to reapply under PBS tier 1 after getting HSMP initial approval. BAsically where I am coming from is that currently initial FLR is for 2 yrs, where as with PBS it will be 3 yrs (so everyone says).
I am just wondering if I get FLR (HSMP) now, can I reappy under PBS say in June and get a 3 yr FLR to "overwrite" my 2yrs HSMP flr.

I hope it makes sense!!!

Even I am on same boat

My extension is due at Nov 2008

and I can qualify for ILR by april 2009

Dont know what changes they are going to implement for extention. If I fail I will loose the ILR just by 6 months

It is really rediculous to keep on changing the rules for extension

In Australian imigration system once qualified for Highly skilled there wont be any other check again

But in UK already they changed the rules on Dec 2006 now again on March 2008

Let them change any rules for new comers. But it is really inhuman to change rules for existing hsmp holders who are in UK

I think they want to chase all existing HSMP holders out of UK.
