Re: 2016 Citizenship Approvals

Post by Nog0612 » Wed Aug 31, 2016 9:20 pm

Hi

I am new here and have been following this forum.

My timeline here (spouse of Irish national with 3 year residence)

Application form posted on 25th July 2016, registered post received on 26th July 2016 (just before the new form came out).

Haven't received anything yet :| -

Just wonder if there is a delay of processing the citizenship applications as most people seemed to receive acknowledgment letter within 4 weeks after the application has been made.

Should I contact them to see what's going on? Please advice.

Thanks!

i got this replay from them...I hope it will give you an idea..those who apply in july but did not get any updates

Please be advised that this office is currently processing new applications
received around the beginning of July. If you have not heard anything
further from this office within the next 2/3 weeks come back to me and I
will follow it up again for you.

Hi J_Karim,

Thank you so much for the update.

I'll definitely follow up with them if I don't get any letter in the next 2 weeks.

Cheers! :)

Hi everyone,

Hopefully this is a simple question:

To all UK citizens who have applied for the Foreign Births Register (FBR) through a grandparent, and have successfully got their FBR certificate, did you have to send a self-addressed, pre-paid envelope with your application?

It is not stated on the application instructions whether this is necessary, and in the case of the same page of the Irish website but for USA and Canadian citizens, it says that postage back to you is included.

Would very much appreciate anyone's input who has successfuly done the FBR as a UK citizen.

Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I paid the €950 fee 2 weeks but didn't receive any invitation yet for the 19th.
Is there an email or phone to contact them ?

Thanks.

Hi there! :)
Just thought I would say hello, I'm quite new to these forums; a long time reader but a new member.

I am posting my application today and applying via Irish Associations (I am a British citizen of Irish descent but not close enough for Irish citizenship by default).

Hi all,

I have been following the forum for a while and it has been very useful (thanks all). Yesterday I got my approval letter. I guess I won't make it for the ceremony in Sep but at least I can relax and just wait until the next one. Here is my time frame:
Applied the 30th April 2016, Basis: 3 years Irish Spouse (the dates shown below are the dates in the letter I received)
- 8th April: received acknowledgement of my application a requested further documentation (send my original passport and explain why the signature in the application form was not exactly the same as in my passport). I sent all they needed the next day after I got the letter.
- 19th April: letter stating that my application was now on second stage (they also returned my passport with this letter).
- 6th September: approval letter requesting the payment, my GNIB card and photographs.

So it took 5 months to get the approval. I didn't have any offence and I was always employed since I moved to Ireland.

Hope this info is useful.

Guys join me in giving the almighty God all the praise, because he only is worthy. I got my approval letter this morning, i didn't think they were still giving out approvals. I applied through a lawyer and after reading all the post on how applying through a lawyer is not a good idea, i was discouraged. I am so happy, i still can't believe because i know what i have lost because of this only citizenship issue but the battle has been won and the devil has been disgraced. My timeline is

Applied: 1st of April 2016
1st and 2nd letter: 20th of April
Approval: 6th of Sep

For all those still waiting, the good Lord will do your own too

@caribean

Thanks for sharing below, this is amazing how quick you have received reply, I applied for my wife on exact same conditions in May16 and we are still waiting for 2nd letter - I hope things are in progress and we will hear back soon.

Hi all
Sent an email and got this reply yesterday:

Hi,

As previously advised your application is still under consideration and has
not yet reached a conclusion. This office will be in touch in due course.

Regards,
Citizenship Division

Anyone got an idea what this means? Thanks in advance

I applied Sep 2015
When I first applied I applied on basis of marriage to an Irish citizen but I ddnt not meet the residence conditions so my application was change to association,

20tg of August I completed my 3 years resistance so I sent in the residence calculator.
My situation is abit complicated but have no criminal convictions or any trouble wit the law.
